Bertil Egerö's Private Collection

History

Egerö was active within the Africa Groups movement in the 1960s-1990s. Spent many years working in Southern Africa during this time and met with people engaged in the struggle. He is a sociologist, scientist and researcher today working at the University of Lund.

Contents

The collection contains material on the developments in Angola and MPLA in the 1970s, i.a. interviews with Pepetela and other persons. Different types of documents on the developments in Zimbabwe and Zanu, such as correspondence, press cuttings and papers. Also a confidential statement by Marcelino dos Santos concerning the murder of Herbert Chitepo. Educational material on Marxism-Leninism for the cadres produced by Frelimo 1981-82. Fourteen notebooks from the 1970s and 1980s with notes from meetings with liberation people such as Tambo, Mbeki a.o. Conferences, diary with travel notes.
