Library Visitors' Program

South African researcher Mosa Phadi came to Uppsala as part of the NAI Library Visitors’ Programme for two months in 2024. Her research focused on what it means to be black in South Africa and how ideas around blackness have evolved throughout the country’s history. During her stay, she found a rare copy of the booklet Europeans and Coloured Races, from 1927. It provided her with crucial pieces of information for her research project, she says.
