Head of Research

Eleanor Fisher is a social development specialist with expertise on transformative approaches to sustainability, livelihood processes, poverty reduction, and participatory development. Her regional expertise is on Sub-Saharan Africa, and in particular East and Southern Africa.

• With an emphasis on empirical research, her research portfolio explores the dynamics of knowledge, power and agency to understand how people negotiate development interventions to generate positive change within their lives.
