Voices from the NAI Early Career Diplomat Briefing Programme

What happens when early career diplomats from across Africa and the Nordics come together to learn, reflect, and exchange perspectives? In this video, participants share their experiences from a three-day programme at the Nordic Africa Institute.
The programme brought young diplomats into dialogue with senior researchers, explored values and ethics in diplomacy, and offered hands-on group work on how research can strengthen policy-making. From the opening in Stockholm to interactive sessions at NAI, participants engaged in discussions on geopolitics, global food systems, peace and security, green industrialization, and mobility as a development resource. They also visited the Nordic Museum and attended a lecture on ethics in diplomacy by philosopher Olle Torpman.
In the video, diplomats reflect on what they learned—and how these insights will shape their work across the African and Nordic regions.
