Making Politics Safer explores violence against women politicians
Date • 15 May 2024
Based on case studies in Ghana, Kenya and Zimbabwe, the research project Making Politics Safer explores violence against women who are active in politics. It identifies strategies to deal with and prevent violence. The project seeks to deepen the understanding of how different forms of violence occur and the importance of factors such as age, class, ethnicity, and party affiliation. A goal of the project is to help decision makers create specific and effective policies that speak to the experiences of women in politics.
