In Africa, the challenges faced by young women to their sexual and reproductive rights were exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. During school closures, teenage pregnancies increased and many young mothers were not allowed to continue their education.

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU) and The Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) hosted a panel discussion on women, minorities and sexual and reproductive health and rights in Africa as part of the launch of “The State of World Population Report”.
