The Nordic Africa Institute together with the Peace and Conflict Department at Uppsala University invites you to this years Claude Ake Memorial Lecture!

The lecture is free and open to all.

The title of the lecture is 'Amos Tutuola and the Gendering of Peace in Africa'.

Welcome to a lecture exploring the work of Nigerian-born author Amos Tutuola (1920-1997) and how it can enhance our understanding of gender and peacebuilding in Africa. Entering his world where human and non-human characters change and interchange, allows scholars and practitioners to see peacebuilding as organic and grounded in local knowledge.

Heidi Hudson is professor of international relations, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa, and the 2018 Claude Ake Visiting Chair.
