Conference on Africa Trade Development held at NAI on September 7-8, 2007

The workshop aimed at inviting debates on the relationship between the Doha Agenda under the WTO and the Economic Partnership Agreement debates. It further questioned the idea of EPA special and differential treatments to African LDCs, the legal dimensions of EPAs, EPAs rules of origin and new directions in the commodity protocols, which may certainly phase out. The workshop also provoked discussions on the implications of EPA success or failure to Sub-Saharan African drive towards regional integration and poverty alleviation.
