Liberation and Democracy in Southern Africa—A Consultative Workshop
13–14 December 2001, Cape Town
Organized by the Nordic Africa Uppsala (NAI),
in collaboration with the Centre for Conflict Resolution at the University of Cape Town.
To establish closer regional and international cooperation on NAI’s research project on “Liberation and Democracy in Southern Africa” a first consultative workshop was organized in mid-December 2001 in Cape Town. With 25 participants from Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe as well as from Sweden, the workshop focussed on aspects of post-colonial democratisation in the respective regional contexts. The contributions to the workshop will be covered by several Discussion Papers by the Nordic Africa Institute within 2002.
