Migrants contribute to change
International migrants contribute in many ways to the development of their countries of origin. "Political remittances" is a relatively new term that refers to standards, experiences, knowledge, or cash flows that can influence political change, such as democratization and greater gender equality. The topic was discussed at a seminar at Sida in Stockholm where NAI researcher Lisa Åkesson participated. The seminar (in Swedish) was filmed by the Delegation for migration studies.
