People need to be involved
NAI in Almedalen
– The more people who participate in the economic development, the better the prospects for poverty reduction in African countries. It can also help to reduce social inequality and conflict, and ultimately strengthen democracy. Therefore, people in the agricultural sector and the local communities need to be involved in the economy, so that they are able to work and produce, thus generating income and new resources, says NAI researcher Gun Eriksson Skoog.
The Nordic Africa Institute holds two public debates during ‘Almedalsveckan’ (a week of political debates and discussion at Gotland). Both NAI events deal which part Sweden and Swedish companies can play in the new Africa. Read more about NAIs program in Gotland (in Swedish).
Please note: webcasts from the events will be available at the NAI website.
