More protests in Africa

Protests against various anomalies are increasing in Africa. Arab Spring is a clear example of this, the "Occupy" movement in Nigeria is another. Do the protests lead to any political change in Africa? A breakfast seminar at Fafo in Oslo, 21 November, will discuss this. NAI researcher Marianne Millstein is of the panelists.
– In South Africa, protests against poor public service delivery have increased significantly over the past five years. It can be about housing policies or power supply. Further research is needed to examine what drives the protests, how they are organized and how mobilization occurs, says Marianne Millstein.
