Funding for participation in the Nordic Africa Days 2018

The Swedish International Development Agency, Sida, has generously provided a possibility for funding participation in the Nordic Africa Days 2018. In order to apply for funding, please read these instructions carefully and submit your application accordingly.

Funding for participation in the Nordic Africa Days is exclusively available for researchers based at an African academic institution, excluding participants from Kenya and South Africa, since these two countries are considered by Sida to be middle income countries. Furthermore, the eligible applicant’s abstract must have been reported as accepted by the panel convenor. Panel convenors may also apply.

Selection will be based on the qualifications of the applicant, as well as his/her intended role during the conference; country of residence; gender, in addition to broader considerations of geographical spread and panel composition.

The funding offered should contribute to travel, accommodation, and conference registration costs only. Additional costs such as visa expenses, local transportation, and other expenses during the conference will not be covered.

In order to apply for funding, the applicant must fill out the application form and submit it to nad2018@nai.uu.se along with an employment certificate and a CV of no more than five pages, including a selection of relevant publications.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 10 June. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. The organising committee’s decision will be communicated to all applicants no later than Friday 15 June.

For questions regarding the application process, please contact nad2018@nai.uu.se, and use the subject text “NAD2018 participation funding”.
